In the time of the coronavirus, many schools across the world have taken to holding online classes. For financially challenged families and schools, however, teaching online classes can be hard, as they may not have the proper resources to do so, such as TVs or computers. As someone who does not have these troubles, I cannot imagine what it would be like in that situation, but I wanted to be of help to those who are struggling right now due to this. Nobody deserves to be restricted from receiving an education and staying healthy and safe from the virus due solely to their financial state. For this reason, I have been working with the charity organization Care & Share to raise funds for the Vimala Hridaya school in Kerala, India, to get TVs for their students so that the school can continue their schooling through online measures as, in Kerala, schools are using TV channels conduct online studies. We are targeting low-income families who cannot afford a TV. Each TV costs about $100. Our initial target is to support 15 students.
After funds for the Vimal Hridaya students have been reached, the remaining proceeds will go to the Issaquah Schools Foundation to help low-income students in Washington state. We are hoping to give $1000 to ISF.
